Up the Hochkönig via the main ascent (difficult)

Conquering the summit of the Hochkönig (2,941 m) is an adventure for experienced and extremely fit mountain climbers. The easiest ascent leads on trail no. 340 from Arthurhaus to Mitterfeldalm and then over the signposted climb to the edge of the Übergossene Alm glacier. After crossing a firn field it continues over a steeper section secured with ladders and ropes up to the summit with the Matrashaus.
Length: 9 km, duration: 5-6 hours, 1,500 metres altitude difference

Hike together with herb experts or set off on a journey of discovery under your own steam. At the region’s 13 hill farms you can find products made from herbs as well as food, teas, creams and spirits and can make things yourself at various workshops. Herb hikes are also on offer for children.
